Hillary Clinton broke the law. Had she been indicted she would have failed an FBI background check, and would not be eligible to be president of the United States. She broke the law due to extreme carelessness no different from ‘gross negligence’ – the more specific legal language Comey chose to avoid. The terms are interchangeable. Because she wasn’t indicted our justice system lost credibility offering up an unfair standard of justice for Hillary and another special exception for the Clinton’s. For any other mere mortal, they would be facing serious felony charges which a prosecutor would willingly bring. This is true in spite of Comey’s misleading statement that no reasonable prosecutor would bring this case to trial.
The fix was in when we saw the drama unfold last week. It seems this inconvenient FBI investigation needed to be disposed of in short order. The ruse was choreographed by Obama and the Clintons starting with Bill Clinton’s highly inappropriate visit with Loretta Lynch on her plane on the Phoenix tarmac, followed by the FBI investigation of Hillary the very next day in which Director Comey inexplicably was not present, and then concluded by Comey’s decision not to indict which given the evidence he shared, should have resulted in his passing information onto a prosecutor and potential grand jury.
None of that occurred.
Imagine dealing with this malignant trio of Democratic thugs solely focused on keeping all future presidential administrations in their unethical party-soiled hands.
Comey’s impotent conclusion forces us to question his integrity. Many who know him describe him as a stand-up guy who can be relied upon to do the right thing. But we watched him surrender after laying out compelling reasons to indict. A disappointing but admittedly pretty consistent Obama-manipulated outcome.
Comey let us down.
But why? How do you coerce a man like Comey to behave like this? Was force brought to bear that gave him no other option? Or did he choose to avoid being tagged as the FBI director unwittingly compelled to bring Hillary down, altering the outcome of the 2016 presidential election. Better to take the high road and avoid a difficult scenario with unpredictable results he was unwilling to consider.
But he actually took the low road because this wasn’t Comey’s decision to make. As FBI director he was obligated to deliver a decision based on the information he meticulously examined to determine if statute (18 U.S.C. section 793 (f)) was violated. If it was, he was empowered to enforce the law. Many believe Hillary violated the statute.
Ayn Rand would agree. When the law no longer protects you from the corrupt, but protects the corrupt from you – you know your nation is doomed.
Had Comey recommended indictment, he might have saved our nation from a woman who is known to be extremely corrupt. If elected president, she won’t hesitate to break laws, much as she’s done before.
To be sure, Hillary broke the law and did it with a pernicious lack of regard for our national security preferring to relegate her emails to an unclassified system because it gave her control. That she destroyed 35,000 emails infers evidence of guilty knowledge or why else do it? She had something to hide. She destroyed unlawful information revealed on her emails.
Her pathological lies hurt us all.
Here are a few:
- Her claim that she did not send any classified emails, that there was no classified material. A lie.
- Her claim that the use of her server proved to be effective and secure when we know from Comey there was a high probability that hostile actors could gain access to Secretary Clinton’s personal email account. A lie with serious ramifications.
- Her claim that she responded right away and provided all emails that could possibly be work related to the State Department. She lied again. Many were withheld and destroyed.
- Her claim that it would be easier to carry just one device for her work and for personal emails instead of two. Comey made clear she used numerous mobile devices to view and send emails. He also said she had used different servers.
A glut of lies, yet she continues to be the Democratic nominee thanks to her accomplices – Obama, Loretta Lynch and Bill Clinton, our not so illustrious former president whose checkered past puts him right back in the White House, if she wins.
There were Republican attacks against this decision but despite some outrage, this travesty of justice will likely evaporate like vapor with few consequences for Hillary’s presidential ambitions.
Are the Republicans shell shocked by high-handed dictatorial Democratic behavior? Many seem desensitized to it, numbed into seeming acquiescence.
The verdict will be determined by the American people. How many will decide against Hillary because our FBI failed to do their job? How many will vote for Trump simply because they feel violated by the dirty dealings we’ve just witnessed which confirm our worst fears. Most progressives will remain loyal to Hillary undeterred by her behavior. Blind ideology is a strange bedfellow wholly detached from reality.
There are those who view this development as having positive consequences for Trump. If Trump can consistently focus on Hillary’s lack of trustworthiness and lies which Comey laid out in his statement of her misconduct, he could emerge a winner.
It would require shrewd political talent and a well managed effort to capture the outrage. There was outrage in 2012, but Romney could not capitalize on it. There is more now. Trump has the ability to do it but he must do it compellingly with a consistent gaffe-free assault that resonates for many people who are feeling discouraged.
That along with our economic woes and poorly handled foreign policy which Hillary as Secretary of State is largely responsible for, could seal the deal. Trump has the ammunition to do it. And lots of it!
Trump claimed correctly the system is ‘rigged’. He also said it was no accident charges were dropped against Hillary on the exact day Obama chose to campaign with her for the first time. It seems clear they knew before the American people that Hillary would not be indicted.
There are also serious questions about the Clinton Foundation which strongly suggest potential abuse of Hillary’s government post used to facilitate Clinton Foundation donations. Did she destroy the emails that revealed this obstruction of justice? Is Hillary bound to her donors, a conflict of interest as president. Some of their donations come from dubious foreign governments and individuals who give for no other reason than to exert influence. There is more ammunition here.
In fact, House Speaker Paul Ryan after Comey’s statements, requested that the director of national intelligence block Hillary’s access to classified information. A fitting response, not exactly reassuring but it gives Republicans a reason now to unify with a direct message they can take to the people.
The consistent and unchallenged violation of our laws has taken us to a place that shocks those of us who possessed a high regard for our justice system.
This behavior is earmarked-Obama in that he and the Clintons tolerate interference just so long before taking matters in their own hands. They eliminate inexpedient problems with haste, regardless of laws or the integrity of our justice department or the credibility of the Democratic party which disrespects our freedom and right to due process.
The problem is they’re now empowered to do it because this kind of lawless behavior has not been confronted. It was allowed.
Obama operated in this manner for eight years unimpeded by anyone. Had some legal body of powerful and courageous individuals stood up to him, we might be facing a very different situation right now. We enabled it allowing him free reign for abuse.
A continuation of this abuse with Hillary is untenable.
