Donald Trump gave a convention speech that we will not soon forget. It was powerful and politically honest – a frank assessment of our current leadership and the problems we face in America. It reinforced his ‘movement’ and ‘change’ election and covered a gamut of difficult topics that loom menacingly. He leveled with the American people using the same approach that won him the nomination. He validated our concerns. He followed his impressive daughter, Ivanka who introduced her father after delivering her own compelling perception of how she views her dad.
As Mike Pence said after hearing all the Trump kids speak, you can’t fake great kids!
The takeaways: Make America safe again and great again! We need to be safe in order to be great. To be safe we need a law-and-order leader.
America isn’t safe. Neither is Europe where terror is endemic. Terror feels possible anywhere we go. Attacks are coming at us quickly. We can no longer traverse a mall, or a promenade to watch fireworks, or a soccer match or even take public transportation without furtively casting apprehensive glances wondering if we’ll get through our activity intact. The unease we carry is a manifestation of a spreading radicalized ideology that has traversed westernized countries who often assume an attitude of denial and obfuscation. People are killed, often grotesquely and our leaders still grapple over bogus words like workplace violence and who’s really responsible for these every day egregious acts.
These brutal acts are inculcated by hundreds of un-policed websites that emerge suddenly then disappear, serving terrorists by radicalizing the vulnerable, used by groups like ISIS who encourage others to kill, and Imams who preach death to the infidels in sanctioned mosques throughout our homelands.
In less than a week we’ve witnessed four terror attacks in Germany. A 17 year old Afghan seen in an Islamic State video, seriously wounded five people on a train with a hatchet and knife. Later that same week nine died with 27 injured in a Munich shopping center, the killer an 18-year old German-Iranian who was receiving psychiatric care and had an abnormal interest in mass shootings, a fact that seemingly went unnoticed. He planned his attack mostly targeting teenagers or as a witness claimed, he was killing the children.
This came on the heels of the Nice attack which this blog described in detail on July 16th, one week ago. We now know the Nice attack was planned, incited by ISIS with five accomplices in custody, and all Muslim.
We’re not surprised. We know who the enemy is.
Sadly, President François Hollande disbanded security forces that should have been safeguarding Nice, days before the Bastille Day Event, an easy soft target. He was warned by Christian Estrosi, president of the Regional Council of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, to remain vigilant. But unforgivably concrete barriers were removed and armed police moved further down the Promenade des Anglais making them unable to react as quickly as possible to an attack. The brutality of Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel’s attack using a weaponized refrigerated truck eroded the public’s trust in authorities to keep France safe.
Shockingly Bouhlel tricked the French police by telling them he had ice cream to distribute. They bought it. He was able to bring his truck onto the Promenade using his concocted story.
Would Manhattan cops fall for a story like that?
But there was a third attack just last night on Sunday in which a woman was hacked to death with a machete in southern Germany. This, committed by a Syrian asylum-seeker purported to be unrelated to terrorism. Do any of us believe that?
A final attack occurred last night at a German concert in Ansback, a small town in Bavaria adding a gruesome fourth attack in a week. Again a 27 year old Syrian man and a declared ‘soldier of Islamic State’ who blew himself up seriously injuring 15. He was supposed to be deported but remained nonetheless.
We see a pattern of sloppy behavior Serious oversights that kill and injure people. Is Europe putting its people first?
Perhaps Angela Merkel will reconsider her insane policy of bringing in unvetted migrants and refugees to her country.
We also learned of a brutal suicide bombing yesterday at a demonstration in Kabul, Afghanistan, a place in which we’ve come to expect such attacks, but no less horrifying when we discover 80 dead, 231 injured committed by two ISIS-inspired suicide bombers who willingly gave their sorry lives to take out all those innocents.
We’ve got a failed culture of 1.5 billion muslims or 22% of the world population who more than not, silently domicile an incendiary radicalized element who have declared war and want to kill non-Islamists. But they kill Muslims too. Death imposed with callous barbarity. We carelessly accept them into our civilized countries and describe those who object as racist or Islamophobes. It’s a progressive-derangement syndrome that denies reality and still enables open-border Muslim migration in Europe most no longer want.
But the U.S. may be headed in the same direction.
If Hillary gets her way, she’ll impose “a 500 percent increase in Syrian refugees” without a screening plan. As it is, we already accept 100,000 immigrants annually from the middle east. Europe’s failed immigration playbook becomes ours imposed by an unaccomplished Secretary of State who has left us with a failed foreign policy mess.
These terrorist attacks were the backdrop to the Trump convention. They provided the credible evidence behind Trump’s convictions: to halt Muslim immigration from certain countries until we can vet or ensure that those who come do not threaten America.
Many describe that as racist, progressive drivel concerned Americans now reject. Terrorism is here! A self-described law-and-order president has appeal; putting Americans first!
The liberal media described Trump’s speech using dark dismal terms to discredit him but the people seemed to have a positive response. Seventy-five percent liked the speech, a CNN poll revealed. After watching, 56 percent were more likely to vote for Trump. Fifty-six percent of 32.2 million viewers translates to 14.8 million potential Trump voters. And we know most people who watch speeches are voters.
The negative media directed at Trump is overwhelming. CNN has since trashed the results of that poll though Breitbart claims their poll numbers were even higher, that mainstream media ……… downplays and throws cold water on their own poll results when they show support for Trump.
In case you’re doubting those numbers we can turn to Frank Luntz who predicted Trump’s speech would put him even or ahead of Hillary in polls by Monday, when the Democratic convention begins.
Truth, when allowed to intrude unimpeded, invariably sways the people in the right direction. There are those induced by feeble ideology they already know and it takes them no further than that. They are thoughtless dreamers impressed by those who lead them astray. Easy targets.
There is a movement afoot. No fiction here. Jump on. It’s the only option to take!
